Welcome to Ghana Institute of Marine Surveyors!
The Ghana Institute of Marine Surveyors (GIMS), established in 1962, is a professional organization that brings together marine surveyors based in Ghana, certifies them and provides continuing education opportunities for them when required.
The Institute defines marine surveying as: “The service provided to maritime and transport organisations in general and the production of guidance reports for all other bodies connected with maritime operations or maritime trade.”
As the professional body for marine surveyors in Ghana, GIMS provides a range of services and benefits to its members, allied organisations and to the wider Ghanaian shipping industry.

The Institute is also dedicated to developing the next generation of marine surveyors in the sub-region by offering quality education and qualifications that are recognised throughout the maritime world.
